Parole Consideration Hearing
A hearing to determine if the Hawai’i Paroling Authority is going to grant convicted felon parole. Parole hearing is scheduled two months prior to the expiration of the longest minimum sentence or as ordered earlier by the Authority.
Probation
A court-imposed criminal sentence that, subject to stated conditions, releases a convicted person into the community instead of sending him/her to jail or prison.
Release
Offender release from a correctional facility on bail, to court, to furlough, to probation, Supervised Community Sentence, or parole supervision, or release from a correctional facility upon expiration of a sentence.
